Hi all,
Hope you are enjoying Easter weekend.
Just a quick question, I am on Methotrexate 15mg and Naproxen (I am only taking one Naproxen a day at the moment).
Feeling quite good but this morning I have unexplained bruising on the inside of one of my fingers. Is this due to the meds and do I need to be concerned?
Hopefully someone will be able to advise me.
Thanks
Mary

Hi Mary,
I have occasionally had strange bruising appear on my fingers. I have always put it down to a small burst blood vessel. Whether I am right or not I haven't a clue! Ihad it happen before R.A. but it does seem to happen a bit more since being diagnosed, you have to be careful because fingers can swell quite quicky if you have a ring on there. I believe some meds can cause bruising in some people but I would think that that would be more wide spread.

Hi Mary

I bruise very easily and am on both Naproxen and Methotrexate (and the rest!). One off bruises, unless huge and unexplained, are nothing to worry about. If you start to find more bruises or they can't be explained a word with your GP may be in order as it could be a symptom of the drugs.

Hi,
Thanks to you both for your replies. Bruise has practically disappeared now. Being newly diagnosed and new to the meds it's difficult to know what to expect.
Thanks once again.
Mary
